WZND is Illinois State University's student radio station. The station is staffed entirely by students and plays a variety of popular music. Broadcasting at Illinois State began in 1935 in conjunction of WJBC, and Illinois State officially created its own station on campus cable, WILN, in 1965 with assistance of speech professor Ruth Yates.
WILN changed its name to WZND in 1981, and was housed in Cook Hall, which soon moved to Old Union, and then to its current home in Fell Hall. Illinois State University acquired the license for 103.3 in 2011.
